Given that he'd neglected to finish high school, Robert's arrival at McKinsey & Co. in 2006 was an improbable occurrence. As McKinsey's CLO, Marcia knew she needed a radically different approach if digital learning was to be a meaningful part of McKinsey consultants' development. After convincing the McKinsey Board that eLearning could meet the high standards set by the firm's iconic in-person leadership programs, she and Robert built a capability that became a strategic part of McKinsey's talent development engine.
Ten years later, Marcia and Robert founded the Learning Transformation Collaborative, with the belief that learning and education can be radically more effective than what has become the status quo, and that learning innovators need partners who understand their challenges and can help them accomplish their missions.
Robert is committed to the full expression of every person’s unique genius. Over the past two decades he has built a number of technology products that put control of learning in the hands of learners. His first web-based learning platform went live for a group of brave students at San Francisco State University in the winter of 1996.
Influenced by his own unusual educational journey, Robert believes that learning can and should be a highly individualized experience guided by a person’s strengths, passions and purpose.
His professional experience includes learning technology leadership roles at DigitalThink, Convergys, McKinsey & Co., ?What If! Innovation and LinkedIn - where he developed the roadmap for a career development engine.
His interest in building a robust, integrated learning ecosystem led him to roles on the board of the learning technology standards organization, IMS; as well as the Association for Talent Development (ATD); and the Data Interoperability Standards Consortium (DISC), responsible for expanding adoption and growth of xAPI - the next generation of learning interoperability.
As geeky as the above sounds, Robert cares most deeply about the growth and development of real live human beings.

Marcia started her career at McKinsey & Co. as a strategy consultant with a focus on organizational change and leadership development. Then, as a Partner and McKinsey’s Chief Learning Officer for 10 years, Marcia was responsible for building one of the world's most lauded leadership development capabilities.
Working with the firm's top executives, Marcia saw first-hand the possibility of personal transformation, and the role that technology can play in enabling personal growth. Leveraging consumer insight approaches to understand learners’ motivations and goals, Marcia helped shape McKinsey’s overall talent strategy and the formal and informal opportunities available to learners.
Today, as one of the founders of the LTC, Marcia brings her passion for personal and organizational performance, her belief in the possibility of learning innovation, and her strategic business experience to help other organizations transform their learning impact.
Marcia has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Virginia and an MBA from Harvard University.
